Booking software for lash and brow technicians in Australia

Lash and brow work is long, detailed and done with both hands busy. Booking software should take bookings, hold the time for a full set and deal with routine questions while you work. Here is what to look for, and what Preen does.

Facts checked . Prices change; the sources are listed at the end.

1. Bookings that carry on while your hands are busy

You can’t answer messages halfway through a full set. Clients should be able to see your real available times, book one and move it themselves, without waiting for you to reply. If most new clients find you on Instagram, put the booking link in your bio and point enquiries to it.

2. A service list clients can choose from

Name services the way clients search for them: classic, hybrid and volume sets, infills, lash lifts, brow lamination, brow shaping and tinting. Give each one an honest duration, including prep and clean-down. If infills have a rule, such as a maximum time since the last set, write it where clients see it when they book, so they choose the right service.

3. Deposits for full sets and new clients

A full set that is cancelled the night before is hours you can’t sell. A deposit on long appointments and first visits makes a late cancellation or no-show cost something, without charging regulars who always turn up. Read our deposits guide for how much to ask and how to word the policy.

4. Consultation questions before the first appointment

Asking about allergies, sensitivities, contact lenses or recent treatments before a client arrives saves time in the chair and tells you who needs a conversation first. Look for forms the client fills in from their booking, attached to the services that need them.

If you patch test new clients, decide where that record lives. A consultation form holds a client’s answers. It isn’t a patch-test record, so keep those the way your insurer or training provider asks.

5. Routine questions, answered

“How long does a lift last?” and “Do you have anything Thursday?” arrive while you’re working. A booking page that shows prices, durations and real times answers most of them. Anything else can wait for a quiet moment.

6. Aftercare products at checkout

Lash cleansers, brushes and brow serums are easy to add to the sale at the end of an appointment. A checkout that tracks stock tells you what is running low before a client asks for it.

7. Pricing that suits a solo tech or a small studio

Most lash and brow techs start solo, so look at what one person pays, and what happens when you take on a second tech or rent a room. Check for a booking commission on new clients, and where card payments go.

Questions people ask

Should lash techs take deposits?
Many do for full sets and first appointments, because a late cancellation leaves a two-hour gap that is hard to fill. Show the amount and your notice period before the client books, and say what happens to the deposit if they cancel late.
Can clients fill in a consultation form before the appointment?
In Preen, yes. Build consultation forms and attach them to a service. Clients who book it fill the form in from their booking link before the appointment, and you see their answers in Preen.
What doesn't a Preen consultation form do?
It doesn't keep patch-test records or e-signatures, and it isn't a legal consent document. It holds the client's answers to the questions you set, so keep any other records the way your insurer or training provider asks.
How much does Preen cost for a solo lash or brow tech?
Solo is $19 a month, GST included, for one bookable staff member. There is also a $0 Free plan with a Preen-branded booking page. No booking commission, new client or returning.
Can new clients book from my Instagram?
Put your booking link in your Instagram bio and new clients can book a real available time from there, without waiting for a reply to a message.
